This is a community of 305 at last count. Its inhabitants are made up of commercial fisherman, retirees, boat builders and craftsmen. Just to the north and east of Stacy is Open Grounds Farm. It consists of some thirty two thousand acres of farmland growing soybeans, cotton, and corn during the summer months that is harvested in the fall. Just before harvest time the bear and deer feed off some of the corn and soybeans. After harvest and during the winter months both geese and swan feed off the left over's while we enjoy the some of the bounty of the harvest. Stacy border's on both Nelson Bay and Core Sound. Gunshots ring out form blinds during the winter waterfowl-hunting season both on the sound and on the bay. Just as it is in all the communities down east, the post offices and churches are the focal points of communities. On Sundays it's the church where you'll find out "what's going on?" During the week you'll find out "what's going on?" at the little post office at the eastern end of Stacy.
